To me everybody is unique; every company has their own DNA if you will, their own character. We know that any 2 hair salons, 2 restaurants or 2 whatever are never the same. The funny things is even though we know any 2 businesses are not the same, when we market ourselves we say the same things as everyone else does. Pretty crazy if you think about it.

Sometimes businesses try to be something that their not and try to convince customers to buy at a cheaper price. Customers can pick that up, they can feel when they are being sold to. Example lets say you do a video and you look like a 100% nerd and your trying to pull yourself off as a cool guy, I’ll tell you right now its not gonna work. My perception is such that I see it all the time.

What you need to do is take a piece of who you are and fuse it into your business. Ask yourself who am i, and what am i passionate about. A good place to start if your not sure is to ask your friends how they see you. Do you have a nickname? As a quick example lets say you have a funny character or personality about you. This is where you can be a little creative. Then ask yourself how can i fuse my personality into my business.

When you align your message with who you are (projecting to be) the more trust and credibility is created. Why because you are authentically passionate about the value you are offering. That’s how it works its really that simple! There’s no magic trick to it. Authenticity is just expressing who you are. When I coach clients my job is not to tell them what to say, it’s more like what to say to project who they are the most.
